The Mobile TV industry in China is only at startup phase with an official domestic CMMB standard for the mobile TV broadcast market. But the overall need for related service is huge here in China.

According to related research, by 2010, the overall amount of mobile phone users in China will reach 701 million. And among these, the mobile TV users in China in 2010 will be over 50 million. Considering the huge need and the government's decision on having Mobile TV launched by the August 2008 Beijing Olympics, the market will owns a booming development in the next few years.

Although many other mobile TV standards are also eager to enter China, with the previous example of promoting TD-SCDMA standard in China's 3G industry, the government will firmly enhance self-developed standard in important industries.
